Computed Tomography (CT): Bone Fractures

Surgeon may arrange CT scan for patient with fracture to characterise the type of fracture from its angle and shape, thereby assisting the surgeons in making accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment for the patient.

A 39-year-old lady was accidentally hit by a hard object recently, resulting in a broken ankle and severe pain. Oblique comminuted fractures were noted in distal tibia and fibula from her CT images. The tibial fracture extends to the distal articular surface.
