Can exercising after meals cause appendicitis?

A 56-year-old lady came to our hospital for consultation due to pain in her right lower abdomen. Her CT images showed that the appendix wall was thickened and swollen.
She was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and required prompt appendectomy.
