Advanced Imaging Technique for Hong Kong’s third “Cancer Killer”* – Liver Cancer
Dual-tracer PET/CT imaging with F-18 FDG and C-11 Acetate is an advanced technique for diagnosis of liver cancer, specifically hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). FDG highlights areas of high glucose metabolism to detect tumors, while Acetate focuses on fat metabolism in the cancer cells. This combination of tracers provides a clearer picture of the cancer cells’ behaviors and characteristics, enabling doctors to tailor precision treatment for improving care and outcomes of patients with liver cancer.
